Faiz Ali Faiz is the undisputed master of Qawwali today – a vocalist whose electrifying voice and commanding presence have placed him at the very forefront of the Sufi music world. Hailing from a dynasty of eight generations of qawwals, he rose in the ranks when Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan himself chose Faiz Ali Faiz to replace him at a Qawwali mehfil when he fell ill – endorsing his talent and trust for the art of Qawwali.
 
With a vocal range of illustrious power and a rich timbre often likened to his legendary predecessor, he has rightfully earned recognition as the greatest living torchbearer of Qawwali. Since beginning his professional career in 1978 at just sixteen, Faiz has dazzled audiences across the globe – from stellar concerts at WOMAD Festival and the Barbican Centre, to Europe, the US, and Asia – igniting stages with spiritual experiences that transcend cultures. His fearless artistry honours the centuries-old tradition of qawwali while daring to push its boundaries – famously known for weaving in influences from classical, flamenco, and gospel to prove its universal, transformative power.
